Sunderland could be very active in the final days of the summer transfer window.
There’s the potential for both outgoings and incomings at the Stadium of Light in the next few days.
The summer transfer window closes on August 30th and sporting director Kristjaan Speakman looks as though he’s trying to make the final touches at Sunderland.
Despite signing Wilson Isidor on loan from Zenit last week, Sunderland have made a £5million bid for Tom Cannon at Leicester City.
There’s also ongoing links to Alexandre Mendy; Mendy has sent a final plea to Sunderland following a frustrating summer for the Caen striker.
Outgoings seem more possible as things stand, with clubs interested in Pierre Ekwah, as well as potential loan exits likely.
Luis Hemir and Joe Anderson are among those tipped to potentially head out on loan, whilst Reading are interested in a loan deal for Jewison Bennette.
We could also see Speakman and the Sunderland owners move on some deadwood in the first-team squad.

Sunderland ready to offload fringe trio after start of new season
Regis Le Bris has impressed so far, taking maximum points in the Championship and having yet to concede.
And certain players have quickly discovered whether or not they’re in Le Bris’ plans with three seemingly not.
Sunderland Echo report that French trio Timothee Pembele, Adil Aouchiche and Abdoullah Ba are among those who Sunderland are ready to offload in the final days of the summer window.
Earlier this summer, Le Bris said Pembele could leave on loan, whilst more recent reports have suggested that Aouchiche is unhappy at Sunderland.
Ba is a new one, but unsurprising nonetheless; he’s yet to feature in the Championship this season.

Cut-throat Sunderland marks start of a new era
Speakman has had his critics in the past. But he’s also had plenty of praise, and this newfound willingness to move on players who’ve been given chances, but have failed to impress, should be commended.
It’d be easy for Speakman to give these players that he’s picked out more and more chances. But moving them on allows the player to explore new opportunities, whilst also saving Sunderland some money in the process.
Le Bris will be wary of being left short-handed in the first-team should a number of players leave, particularly in midfield with Ekwah, Aouchiche, and Ba all potentially leaving.
One or two injuries could really dent Sunderland’s early promotion hopes under Le Bris.
