Sunderland look to have a loan deal for Liverpool striker Jayden Danns in the bag. He’ll become the Blac Cats’ third signing of the window.
So far in January, Sunderland have made two signings in Enzo Le Fee and the permanent capture of Wilson Isidor.
A third is looking likely, and it looks set to be Jayden Danns. The Liverpool striker is heading to Sunderland for his medical and he could even watch from the stands when Sunderland play at Middlesbrough on Monday night.
As ever, though, the deal could hit some kind of unexpected snag. If it does though, Kristjaan Speakman has a plan.

Sunderland once again linked with Adam Armstrong
Former Newcastle United man Adam Armstrong is a name now doing the rounds on deadline day, with reports that Sunderland are interested in the Southampton striker.
Soon after, Sunderland sources played down the interest. But Craig Hope has written for Daily Mail that Sunderland are in fact keen, and that the Black Cats could turn towards the former Blackburn Rovers hitman if the deal for Danns ‘hits a snag’.
Hope also reveals that Middlesbrough and Leeds United are keen on the 27-year-old striker.
Adam Armstrong to Sunderland has legs, here’s why
Sunderland fans have been quick to hush Sunderland’s rumoured interest in Armstrong, whose Newcastle United background would make for a contested signing at the Stadium of Light.
But transfer expert Graeme Bailey believes that Southampton are more likely to let Armstrong leave than Cameron Archer, who’s also been linked with Sunderland.
