Sunderland look to have a deadline signing in the bag. But time will tell whether or not it’s a signing that gets the Black Cats over the promotion line this season.

After a lot of back and forth in their search for a new striker, it looks like Sunderland finally have their man.

In true Kristjaan Speakman fashion, it looks like the Sunderland sporting director has pulled off a dramatic striker signing in Jayden Danns.

On Monday, reports emerged claiming that Sunderland were set to sign Danns on loan from Liverpool, and details about his medical and more has now been revealed.

What Regis Le Bris has said about the Middlesbrough game

Playing on deadline day isn’t ideal for either Sunderland or Middlesbrough, who are both working on late transfers.

Speaking recently, Regis Le Bris gave his verdict on the timing of the Middlesbrough game, saying: “I would like this [to not play a game on deadline day, but it is not often the case. Because the market is unpredictable.”

Kick off is at 8pm on Monday night. A win for the Black Cats in front of possible new boy Danns would bring them level on points with Burnley a place ahead in 3rd.
