Fans of Premier League side Wolves have categorically disagreed with Sunderland supporters over one claim.

Sunderland have made the signing of Enzo Le Fee on loan from Italian giants Roma.

The arrival has taken the Championship by storm as Kristjaan Speakman is undoubtedly setting up Black Cats boss Regis Le Bris with all the tools to maintain his promotion push.

Many have suggested, because Le Fee has previously shone in Ligue 1 under Le Bris at FC Lorient, that he could be one of the best Championship signings of all time, especially considering he moved for over £20million at the start of this season to Roma, and, six months later, the Black Cats have acquired his services in a loan deal.

However, the claims have been met with resistance with Wolves fans, who believe that someone else deserves the title of the best ever Championship signing.

Wolves fans dispute claim over Enzo Le Fee being the best ever Championship signing

Sunderland’s deal to sign Le Fee has been regarded as ‘really exciting’, and there is no wonder why when looking at his history in French football.

However, the deal has seen a response by Wolves fans, who believe that they still hold the title of the best ever Championship signing.

Reacting on X, one Wolves fan said that ‘they know Neves is better’, and belittled the idea that they’re ‘comparing him to a 17-year-old who captained their club at 17 and was in the champions league’.

Another Wolves fan suggested that both ‘Neves AND Jota were both better signings than Le Fee’, and he was backed up by another that suggested ‘Neves is by far the best player to play in the championship n 2nd is jota. No one does or will come close’.

Fans of the Premier League side concluded as they suggested that ‘Le Fee isn’t even close to Ruben Neves.’

Enzo Le Fee has the potential to overtake Ruben Neves legacy

When comparing Sunderland’s current squad to Wolves’ in the 2017/18 season, there is no doubt that the current Premier League side had bags of quality, but on top of that, they Championship was much easier for them emerge as promotion contenders.

Wolves had Cardiff City as their main rivals for promotion, whilst Sunderland have recently-relegated Burnley and Sheffield United, as well as Leeds United, which suggests that it would be a much more impressive feat if the Black Cats can achieve promotion this season.

In fact, if Sunderland do reach the Premier League, against the odds, and Le Fee is at the front-and-centre of such a feat, there will definitely be an argument to suggest that the Frenchman’s impact would be much more immense than Neves’.
