Imminent Sunderland signing Enzo Le Fee will rank alongside the top players in the Championship for one key aspect.
Sunderland are closing in on the spectacular signing of Roma central-midfielder Enzo Le Fee, who looks set to arrive at the Stadium of Light in a loan move from the Italian giants.
He will join an already thriving centre-of-the-park, consisting of Jobe Bellingham and Chris Rigg, alongside Dan Neil, who he may be battling for a spot in the starting 11.
The move, which has been regarded as a fantastic piece of business by Kristjaan Speakman, with Black Cats boss Regis Le Bris clearly having plenty of influence on the deal, will see the Frenchman arrive with a potential fee that will only be triggered if Sunderland can pull off a promotion to the Premier League in the 2024/25 Championship season.
Le Fee is clearly arriving on Wearside with plenty of prestige, from lighting up Ligue 1 under Le Bris during their time at FC Lorient, to the fact that he commanded a hefty eight-figure fee for his move to Roma.
Because of his highly-respected history in the game, it is no surprise to see him rank as the joint-highest in one area amongst the Championship’s top talents.

Imminent Sunderland signing Enzo Le Fee handed joint-highest market value in the Championship
As a result of Le Fee’s history in some of Europe’s top leagues, it comes as no shock that he will be arriving at the club with plenty of prestige to his name.
The incoming Black Cats man, once he officially signs for Sunderland, will command the title as the player with the joint-highest market value in the Championship, per Transfermarkt.
Le Fee will join four other players with a market value of €18million, including Black Cats midfielder Jobe Bellingham. He will be alongside Leeds United’s Willy Gnonto, Sheffield United’s Anel Ahmedhodzic and Burnley’s James Trafford, who currently also have the same market value as the incoming Sunderland signing.

Regis Le Bris deserves full credit for development of Black Cats midfield
When Le Bris took over prior to the campaign, he certainly had a difficult task to manage a side that was so depleted of confidence and consistent quality following a lacklustre 2023/24 Championship season that saw the Black Cats finish in 16th.
Whilst last season Sunderland’s midfield was their strength, it has still certainly come on leaps-and-bounds ever since Le Bris joined the club.
Bellingham and Chris Rigg’s development as a midfield pairing has been incredible, whilst Dan Neil has been superb in recent weeks in his new holding-midfield role, and to add Le Fee to the mix is incredibly exciting.
The French midfielder certainly wouldn’t be anywhere near a Championship move, and admittedly, he still shouldn’t be dropping to this level with all of his quality, but it is certainly a statement that shows that Le Bris can be a massive factor in bringing some top players into the side, as seen by Le Fee’s imminent arrival.
