Enzo Le Fee is rumoured to be on his way to Sunderland. Fans on social media have even speculated as to what flight he might be on.
Sunderland now look set to sign Enzo Le Fee on a loan deal from Roma. The rumour only emerged a few days ago and it looked overly ambitious to say the least. But it now looks set to happen.
Multiple sources have now confirmed that Sunderland are set to sign Le Fee on loan from Roma with an obligation to buy the 24-year-old for a fee in the region of £20million, on the basis that the Black Cats earn promotion to the Premier League in 2025.
Le Fee will become the Black Cats’ first signing of the January transfer window, and it’s a signing that really states their intentions to earn promotion under Regis Le Bris. As things stand, the Black Cats sit in 4th place of the Championship table and three points off leaders Leeds United.

Enzo Le Fee pictured on flight to Sunderland
Sunderland fans are now one step closer to an official announcement on the Le Fee signing after he was pictured on a flight to Wearside. Journalist Santi Aouna revealed the image on X, adding: “He’s on private flight with his family, complete medical tests and sign.”
Several Sunderland fans have been trying to predict what flight Le Fee is on to the north-east, or if he’s even on a flight at all. But this picture confirms so, and it looks like an official announcement of the signing of Le Fee is imminent, barring any hitches in his medical.
Sunderland set to pay Enzo Le Fee’s Roma wages
Roma paid £19million to sign Le Fee from Rennes during the summer transfer window. He’s made just six Serie A appearances since but he’s still a big investment for the Italians.
And Claudio Ranieri’s side are getting Le Fee’s salary covered by the Black Cats. It’s been reported that Sunderland will pay Le Fee’s wages up until June, with Le Fee thought to be earning as much as £69,000-a-week.
Speaking to the press on Thursday, Le Bris spoke about Le Fee’s move to Sunderland. He played down the move but didn’t denying it, and he suggested that Le Fee won’t be arriving in time to feature in the Black Cats’ upcoming FA Cup fixture against Stoke City.
