After a long month of potential signings, it’s finally transfer deadline day, and we know the big names you should be watching closely when it comes to Sunderland’s activity before the window closes.

So far, we’ve seen Sunderland bring in Enzo Le Fee on loan from AS Roma, and confirm the permanent signing of Wilson Isidor after his successful start to life on Wearside.

The Black Cats have also said goodbye to Aaron Connolly, as well as sending Adil Aouchiche, Nazariy Rusyn, and Zak Johnson out on loan.

But, as the transfer deadline approaches, we’ve put together all we know about three more potential deals that could go through today.

Sunderland will be fighting for Jayden Danns loan

Some suspect that signing Isidor permanently was a tactical move by Kristjaan Speakman, in order to free up another loan spot in the Sunderland squad.

If so, that slot could be filled by Jayden Danns, who is on Sunderland’s radar. But, the Black Cats will face stern competition from Blackburn Rovers for the Liverpool youngster.

It is thought Liverpool are willing to send the 19-year-old forward on loan before the window closes, despite Danns recently starting for the Anfield outfit in the Champions League.

Tommy Watson could be off to the Premier League

The bad news for Sunderland fans is that teenage sensation, Tommy Watson, could be on his way out of the club today, with interest from a number of Premier League clubs emerging over the weekend.

Sunderland already rejected an initial bid from Brighton for Watson, but another approach is expected imminently, with Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, and Spurs also thought to be keen.

The latest on the situation suggests a £10m offer would be entertained by Sunderland, but the club insists it would need a replacement before Watson can leave.

Eduard Spertsyan emerges as a late target for Sunderland

Meanwhile, it’s something of a long shot, but Sunderland have now been linked with Eduard Spertsyan, who is also believed to be a target for Leeds United.

The playmaker, who currently plays for Krasnodar, has been making waves in Russia, and has alerted the attention of top clubs in the Championship of late.

Sunderland are known to be looking for a versatile attacking player, and Spertsyan could well fit that criteria. We’re not holding our breath on this one, but watch this space!
