Sunderland fans certainly have high hopes for Jobe Bellingham, who was again in form as the Black Cats claimed a huge win in the Championship on New Year’s Day.
Jobe Bellingham was one of the many Black Cats players who shone during Sunderland’s New Year’s Day win over Sheffield United at the Stadium of Light.
Regis Le Bris’ side remain in 4th place of the Championship table, but close the gap to the top two to just two points, with goals coming from Wilson Isidor and Eliezer Mayenda.
Mayenda had his best game for Sunderland against the Blades, says BBC pundit Gary Bennett, whilst Isidor also caught the eye.
Bellingham didn’t get himself on the scoresheet, but the 19-year-old was combative as ever in midfield, whilst also being neat and tidy in possession.
And that game came right after Bellingham was linked with Arsenal and Manchester United. It’s reported that both have made checks on the former Birmingham City star and that both have been told how much they’ll need to pay to sign Bellingham in January.

Mikel Arteta says Arsenal ready to ‘look at’ transfer opportunities amid Jobe Bellingham links
Arsenal were also in action on New Year’s Day. The Gunners beat Brentford away from home and after the game, Mikel Arteta revealed his transfer plans to the press.
The Spaniard is quoted by Mirror as saying: “At the moment it is looking after the players and get the best out of them. At the moment our focus is our players.
“I really like my players and I believe in what we have as there’s a lot of quality and commitment. Let’s see. If there’s an opportunity we will look at it.”
Ahead of the January transfer window, Bellingham was linked to Real Madrid, with Borussia Dortmund and a handful of other Premier League teams, such as Brentford, having been linked as well.

Jobe Bellingham’s transfer market value revealed at Sunderland
Interestingly, with Arsenal and Manchester United having been told a fee for Bellingham, it means the Sunderland owners know how much they want.
Many will speculate somewhere between £20-25million but it’s not been revealed how much the club value Bellingham at.
A recent study from Transfermarkt though revealed Bellingham’s transfer market value, which they put at just under £15million.
Expect the club to eventually cash in on him for much more than that, though. He showed again against Sheffield United why he’s such an in demand player, with his bursting runs forward and his strong defensive attributes too.
