Premier League big-hitters Arsenal and Manchester United are the latest teams to make checks on one of Sunderland’s in demand stars. They’ve even been told how much they’ll need to pay for him.

Sunderland have a growing list of players with links to some of Europe’s top teams, and it’s a huge credit to sporting director Kristjaan Speakman for putting together such a promising young squad.

Names of Sunderland players wanted for big moves include Chris Rigg who’s been linked with Real Madrid and more this season, Anthony Patterson who’s also had United links, with Dan Ballard another linked to the Premier League.

Ahead of January though, much of the talk has been about Jobe Bellingham. The midfielder is linked with Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid, with the 19-year-old having had plenty of transfer interest during the summer as well.

The likes of Brentford, Crystal Palace and Spurs were linked with Bellingham in the summer. Now, there’s fresh interest from the Premier League.

Arsenal and Manchester United make checks on Jobe Bellingham at Sunderland

Journalist Sam Cohen has revealed on X that Arsenal and Manchester United are among a number of Premier League teams currently ‘watching and tracking’ and Bellingham.

Cohen adds that Bellingham ‘would be open to leaving Sunderland at the end of the season’ and that ‘personal terms for any move aren’t expected to be a problem’.

Lastly, Cohen reveals that ‘clubs who’ve enquired have been told a fee’, though how much Sunderland actually want for Bellingham remains to be seen.

There’s been no official price tag mentioned alongside the England U21s star. Several reports though have suggested that Sunderland would want somewhere in the region of £20milion, which is a fee often put alongside their in demand players.

Jude Bellingham was right about Jobe all along

Jobe has often had to deal with comparisons to older brother Jude. But the Real Madrid star knew all along that Jobe was a top player.

During the summer, Jude Bellingham gave his verdict on Jobe at Sunderland, saying: “The worry is that people judge him based on my achievements.

“But I’m really conscious of that because I know it’s something that people will always throw in his face, and it’s not fair because he’s an amazing talent, amazing player in his own right.

“People will use him as a way to have a dig at me and vice versa, so we’re almost like each other’s biggest fans but also the biggest target for each other because we care about each other so much.”

And these emerging links to Arsenal and Manchester United reaffirm that Jude was right about Jobe: he is a top player in his own right and he’ll forge a career path of his own, separate to Jude’s.

The two could even share the international stage one day.
