After rejecting bids from Crystal Palace for Jobe Bellingham, Sunderland have now knocked back a different Premier League team.
Sunderland star Jobe Bellingham is a man in demand following his maiden season at the Stadium of Light.
The 18-year-old joined from Birmingham City in a reported £3million move last summer, going on to feature in 45 of Sunderland’s 46 Championship fixtures.
Bellingham played in numerous roles; as a deeper-lying midfielder and as a more attacking one, then even as a no.9 on occasion.
The England U20s man scored seven goals in the Championship last time round and has since been linked with multiple Premier League clubs.
All or Brentford, Crystal Palace, and Tottenham Hotspur have been mentioned alongside Bellingham, though it’s Palace who are trying the hardest to sign him.
It’s reported that the Eagles have seen multiple bids rejected for Bellingham already this summer, with Sunderland wanting no less than £20million for the player.
It’s also claimed that Crystal Palace will go all out for Bellingham, if he gives them the green light.

Brentford see bid rejected for Jobe Bellingham at Sunderland
Now, it’s been revealed by The Northern Echo that Brentford have seen ‘at least one formal offer for Bellingham’ rejected this summer.
The Bees were also knocked back in their recent pursuit of Leeds United gem Archie Gray, who’s since joined Tottenham Hotspur on a permanent deal.
With Brentford having had a bid rejected, it may be safe to assume that their offer fell short of Sunderland’s apparent £20million valuation of Bellingham.
He’s one of several Sunderland players attracting transfer interest from the Premier League, with all of Trai Hume, Anthony Patterson, and Jack Clarke linked with top flight sides in England right now.

Why Sunderland ace Jobe Bellingham must reject Brentford interest
Both Brentford and Crystal Palace have made several signings from the Championship in recent seasons. But Palace have certainly had the better luck.
Palace have brought in names like Ebere Eze, Michael Olise, and Adam Wharton, with all three going on to shine.
Brentford meanwhile haven’t had so much luck in their transfer business, with names Keane Lewis-Potter boasting mixed reviews.
So Palace may be a much better fit and boast a better potential trajectory for Bellingham, after seeing the likes of Eze and Wharton make the England Euro 2024 squad.
But the ball is in Sunderland’s court right now and until they recieve an offer of £20million or more, they don’t look set to budge on Bellingham.
And that’s a huge credit to the club and sporting director Kristjaan Speakman.
