Sunderland January signing Jayden Danns has been given a top verdict by one Premier League winner.

The Black Cats completed the January deadline day signing of Jayden Danns after seeing off competition from fellow Championship side Hull City.

Sunderland’s attacking options now certainly look fruitful, particularly through the middle, which consists of the Liverpool loanee, who has joined up with Wilson Isidor and Eliezer Mayenda.

Whilst Danns has arrived as somewhat of an unknown on Wearside, he has made an incredible impression in Merseyside, receiving plaudits from Jurgen Klopp last season, whilst a Liverpool expert has also given him plenty of praise following his move to Sunderland.

Despite playing limited senior football in his career, Sunderland fans should be optimistic about the signing after what a Premier League winner said about him.

Sunderland signing Jayden Danns hailed by Marc Albrighton following previous Liverpool showing

Black Cats attacker Danns was handed sporadic, but still important game time for Arne Slot’s Liverpool, notably starting in their most recent Champions League clash against PSV Eindhoven, whilst also coming off-the bench in the FA Cup against Accrington Stanley, bagging a goal in the latter.

On BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra commentary duties for the game, former Leicester City man and Premier League winner Marc Albrighton hailed the brilliance of the young Liverpool man and his part in the goal, as he said: “Jayden Danns loves a goal and getting in those positions. That was brilliant from start to finish. He expected the rebound and he finished it well first time. You can see how much it means to him – a great moment for the young lad.”

Despite signing on deadline day, Sunderland fans will have to wait to see Danns in action following his arrival due to a minor injury that was picked up in his medical.

Jayden Danns praise will make him worth the wait

It clearly is agitating for both Regis Le Bris and Sunderland fans that one of their top arrivals has joined the club with a slight issue that means that his introduction to the side has to be somewhat delayed.

Nonetheless, every word uttered about Danns so far has been resoundingly positive. His impeccable record in youth football, partnered with the fact that both Klopp and Slot picked him out of the academy to give him game-time for his own development just shows how lofty his potential is.

There is no doubt that Isidor should remain as Sunderland’s main focal point up top, but Danns could soon provide some necessary competition to the Frenchman.
