Sunderland star Enzo Le Fee has spoken about his first impressions of the red & white faithful.

Since arriving at the club in early January, Sunderland fans have instantly taken a shine to new signing Enzo Le Fee.

The Frenchman arrived on Wearside with plenty of expectations after his loan move from Roma, and it is safe to say that he has lived up to that, with his recent performance against Luton Town showcasing what Black Cats fans were expecting of him.

The Sunderland winger’s recent showing saw him bag a goal of the highest quality and after the game, he was quizzed about several things, including how Regis Le Bris influenced him to join the club. He was also asked about his thoughts on Sunderland fans, to which he offered an incredible insight, which saw the Frenchman note the Netflix show, Sunderland ‘Til I Die.

Enzo Le Fee hails ‘crazy’ fans after hailing ‘famous’ Sunderland

Players often hail the unwavering support for the club, which stands out amongst fellow Championship clubs. Black Cats signing Le Fee was no different.

Speaking to Sunderland Echo, Le Fee said: “They [the fans] are Crazy. I’ve seen it on my first day. When I came, I received a lot of messages. I feel like at home. Since my first day. I’m very happy to help the team and I can make the public happy as well. I want to make the supporters happy, also because they are supporting me in the match. I want to give them more and give emotion to the fans.

“I didn’t know the series on Netflix. But on my first day here, I watched. I can feel the emotion of the fans. Of course, I know Sunderland is a famous club in England. It’s a pleasure for me to wear the jersey. It’s a pleasure for me to wear the jersey. I’m enjoying my life.”

Sunderland’s average attendance at home, which stands at 38,546, puts them second in the Championship, only behind Leeds United.

Black Cats fans could prove to be the difference in Championship promotion race

The support over the seasons has been incredible, despite the recent turbulence off the pitch. The recent turbulence that saw the Black Cats handed a double relegation, and the years in League One could have driven away a proportion of the fans, but the red & white faithful have stuck by their team.

Finally, those fans deserving of the good times returning to Wearside are reaping the rewards, with the 2024/25 Championship season handing an opportunity for Sunderland to return to the Premier League.

Le Bris has done brilliantly with this current crop of players, and it is the very least that the fans deserve after recent seasons.
