Sunderland fans are in for a treat if they are able to sign Simon Adingra, Brighton supporters are far from pleased.
The Black Cats’ deadline day has seen plenty of action in regards to Kristjaan Speakman looking to bolster the attacking ranks available to Regis Le Bris.
Sunderland are currently in talks with Brighton over the potential sale of 18-year-old ace Tommy Watson, with Speakman looking to sanction a deal for Simon Adingra to go in the other direction.
The Ivorian international is integral to the deal, and Brighton are still considering a deal for Watson that will include Adingra, otherwise the Seagulls would have to offer a significantly higher fee for Sunderland’s youngster.
The deal has been praised on the Sunderland end, and would be an incredible sign of ambition if it can be pulled off, but on the Brighton side, supporters aren’t quite as pleased.

Between Sunderland and Brighton fans, those located in the North East will certainly be the happier of the bunch as seen by the Seagulls’ supporters reaction to the proposed deal.
Per X, one Brighton fan suggested that the deal ‘seems really bizarre’ for his side to get rid of Adingra, whilst another supporter showed that the rumours were ‘baffling’.
Another went on to explain just how incredible it was that Sunderland were linked with such a player, as he said: “Adingra is too good for the championship and once again we are STILL in an injury crisis.”
One fan asked ‘why on earth am I seeing Adingra Sunderland rumours?’. Another questioned “how anyone is alright with giving Adingra a championship loan baffles me’.

Sunderland have gone ambitious with their plans in the January transfer window, and one clear sign of this early on was Enzo Le Fee’s arrival from Roma.
The Frenchman has had a slightly slow start to life on Wearside, not through his own doings, due to the fact that he has been utilised out wide, as opposed to his familiar central role.
Thankfully for Le Fee, Adingra’s potential arrival would certainly see him slot in on the left flank, meaning that the Roma loanee would be able to be deployed in his more familiar area of the pitch.
