Sunderland are not wasting any time in the remaining days of the summer transfer window.
The Black Cats are expected to have a busy deadline day with multiple signings possible. Tom Cannon has remained a Sunderland target after Regis Le Bris’ side placed a bid for the attacker.
Serbian wonderkid Milan Aleksic could also sign for Sunderland after a £3.1 million bid was submitted.
However, Le Bris has clearly selected specific targets to form his new team as reports have recently emerged that the manager has vetoed the signing of a Mexican international.
Regis Le Bris turns down opportunity to sign Cesar Huerta on loan

Cesar Huerta commonly known as “Chino Huerta” is a Mexican international playing in his home country for Pumas. The 23-year-old has been incredible, helping him pick up 10 international caps.
Mainly utilised out on the wing, Huerta caught the attention of Liverpool this summer and was believed to be making a historical switch to the Premier League.
As part of this deal, it was assumed that he would be sent out on loan to a Championship side in order to build up his experience in England and help him develop.
Now, according to journalist Rodrigo Celorio, Sunderland were the club set to take Huerta on loan.
However, the whole transfer has now collapsed due to Sunderland manager Le Bris. The Frenchman vetoed the move which eventually caused the end of negotiations between Liverpool and Pumas, with the Reds feeling that there were no other teams suited for Huerta’s development.
Good to see that Regis Le Bris is not going to be pushed around
On paper, Huerta looks like a brilliant signing. The winger is an experienced international who can score goals and could potentially replace Jack Clarke.
However, Le Bris clearly knows what team he wants to build at the Stadium of Light and is not willing to bring in players for the sake of it.
This is brilliant management as the wrong balance in the dressing room could upset the brilliant start Sunderland has had to the season.
Hopefully, on deadline day, Le Bris can bring in the final players that he wants to help continue the club’s bright start to the new campaign.
