Sunderland are set to make a sensational signing before transfer deadline day as they close in on the capture of Milan Aleksic.

It has been an eventful last week at the Stadium of Light. The club finally secured a striker as Sunderland signed Wilson Isidor on loan from Zenit

However, Sunderland also parted with Jack Clarke who left for Premier League newcomers Ipswich.

After earning £15 million from the sale of their star man, many supporters hoped that the club would reinvest the money back into the squad.

Now, it has been reported that Sunderland will splash the cash, as they close in on a highly-rated wonderkid from Serbia.

Milan Aleksic set to sign for Sunderland for €3.7 million

According to MozzartSport, Milan Aleksic is set to move to Sunderland for €3.7 million. The 18-year-old has developed a massive reputation at Serbian side FK Radnički.

In the last campaign, he scored five goals and assisted 10 in all competitions, helping the club qualify for the Europa Conference League.

As a result of his form, it is believed that Benfica were interested in signing the wonderkid, while a group of clubs under the patronage of Chelsea sent an official offer. However, Sunderland has now beaten both clubs to his signature.

The transfer will be FK Radnički’s biggest-ever departure, with the Serbia club holding onto a percentage of the next sale.

Aleksic is expected to sign a four-year deal at the Stadium of Light and has already travelled for a medical.

Another exciting young talent at Sunderland

Sunderland’s current squad already has plenty of exciting young talent. Chris Rigg and Jobe Bellingham are the two most prominent, with the pair both signing new contracts this summer.

However, Aleksic now adds to that midfielder, with the youngster showing every sign that he could become a top player.

The 18-year-old may need time to adapt to the Championship but Regis Le Bris has already shown multiple times throughout his managerial career that he is capable of helping players reach their potential.

Hopefully, Aleksic will continue to develop at the Stadium of Light and become a star for the club.
