Sunderland have finally signed a striker.
After several weeks of searching for a striker, Sunderland have finally signed one.
The Black Cats have announced the loan capture of Wilson Isidor from Zenit, with Sunderland thought to have an option to buy the Frenchman at the end of this season.
Isidor, 23, began his career with Monaco, spending time with Rennes as a youth player at the same when Regis Le Bris was working with the club.
Isidor says that he and Le Bris never actually worked together, but that he’s heard good things about the Sunderland boss.
For the last five seasons, Isidor has been playing in Russia, having joined Zenit midway through last season after impressing with Lokomotiv Moscow.
This season, Isidor scored once in three league outings for Zenit, scoring three across the entirety of last season with Moscow and then Zenit.
Speaking in his first interview with the club, Isidor has told Sunderland fans the four qualities that he’ll add to the side.

Wilson Isidor tells Sunderland fans what he’ll add to the side
Isidor’s first interview with Sunderland was posted on Friday afternoon, shortly after the club announced his arrival on loan.
Kristjaan Speakman has been chasing a striker deal all summer and he finally gets one over the line, and it looks like another could soon follow.
Sunderland are in advanced talks to sign Roko Simic from Red Bull Salzburg, and he could soon join Isidor in arriving at the Stadium of Light.
Isidor will hope to hit the ground running for the Black Cats, and he’s said of what qualities he’ll bring to the team: “I’m a striker who can play also on the wings, left or right.
“My main qualities; I’m fast, I finish my actions, I can shoot, I can have also good dribbling.
“I think I have some qualities and I hope I can bring them to the team.”

Wilson Isidor is just what the doctor ordered at Sunderland
It’s no secret that Sunderland have desperately needed a striker throughout the whole of 2024 now.
Not only that, but they need one who can operate as a lone striker more often than not, and compliment the high press that Le Bris has adopted.
And Wilson, being a fast-paced striker with good finishing and shooting qualities, seems perfect.
Although he wasn’t so prolific last season, he does boast a record of 19 gols in 52 Russian top flight appearances.
And being able to operate on the wing is an added bonus, with Jack Clarke leaving Sunderland for Ipswich Town.
Sunderland fans may get a first glimpse of Isidor when the Black Cats take on Burnley in the Championship this weekend.
