Sunderland favourite Jack Clarke has shown his class in the early stages of this season.
Jack Clarke already has one goal and one assist in the Championship this season, with Sunderland having started strong under Regis Le Bris.
The Frenchman has guided Sunderland to a perfect start to the 2024/25 Championship season with two wins from two, and no goals conceded, following the 4-0 win vs Sheffield Wednesday last time out.
With a week left of the summer transfer window, the rumour mill is in full swing, with the Black Cats backed to do several deals.
On Thursday, it was revealed that Red Bull Salzburg striker Roko Simic was set to undergo a Sunderland medical.
But there’s a huge outgoing now moving forward at the Stadium of Light, with Ipswich Town working on a deal to sign Clarke.
Now, it looks as though the Tractor Boys are set to complete the deal.

Ipswich Town agree Jack Clarke deal, Sunderland set to sell for £20m
Ipswich Town have tabled a £15million bid for Clarke, per reports, with the fee rising to £20million with add-ons.
It falls short of Sunderland’s £25million valuation of Clarke which has been widely reported during this summer’s transfer window.
But journalist Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that Ipswich Town have agreed a deal to sign Clarke, in a move worth £20million with add-ons.
Romano adds that Sunderland have ‘secured a sell-on clause as part of the deal’.
Time for one Sunderland man to step up for Regis Le Bris
Clarke leaving Sunderland has been on the cards for a number of transfer windows now.
For the Sunderland owners and Kristjaan Speakman, £20million represents a huge profit on the player, who they were rumoured to have paid just £1million for in 2023.
Now though, Le Bris will have to plan for life without Clarke, and he’ll surely turn towards Romaine Mundle to step up this season.
Sunderland signed Mundle last January, arguably with a view to the former Spurs winger replacing Clarke in the XI.
Now, after an impressive pre-season, Mundle will be eager to take his chance, though Le Bris will have to be patient with the 21-year-old.
Clarke took a couple of seasons to become the player he is now and replacing his goals, assists, and overall contribution to the side will take Mundle a long time.
But now is his time to shine.
