Kyril Louis-Dreyfus is earning all kinds of praise at Sunderland right now, mainly following the loan deal for Roma star Enzo Le Fee. And there could be more big money deals to come.
Sunderland signed Enzo Le Fee on loan from Roma earlier in the month, taking the Championship by shock as the Black Cats signed a player who cost £20million just last summer.
The Black Cats will have to pay the same amount to sign Le Fee permanently from Roma if they earn promotion under Regis Le Bris this season. What’s more is that Sunderland are paying Le Fee’s wages until the summer.
It highlights the ambition of owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus and the fact that he thinks this is the season where Sunderland can break into the Premier League.
With deadline day around the corner, it looks like Sunderland will be busy. And another name has now been linked in Southampton’s Cameron Archer who Sunderland have tried to sign on loan in the past.

Sunderland ready to spend big on Southampton’s Cameron Archer
Multiple reports on Thursday afternoon revealed that Sunderland were in the running to sign Archer, 23, on loan for the remainder of the campaign. At first it was revealed that Championship leaders Leeds United had seen a loan approach knocked back.
But speaking to Sunderland AFC News, transfer expert Graeme Bailey has shared some details about the move, revealing that Sunderland and Louis-Dreyfus are ready to do a loan-to-buy deal for Archer, who cost Southampton an impressive £15million last summer.
Bailey said: “We know that they looked at Chuba Akpom but that is not an easy deal with other clubs keen. Now another former Middlesbrough man is in their thoughts with Southampton’s Cameron Archer being a player they like.
“We’re told Sunderland would be willing to do a loan with an obligation, but Leeds are in for him and that makes things difficult for Sunderland – they are tempting club for any player. Sunderland though are still trying.”

Sunderland’s deadline day plans revealed
If it wasn’t clear already, Sunderland want an attacking signing before the January transfer window slams shut, with Archer yet another name added to Kristjaan Speakman’s watchlist.
Archer joins the likes of Emil Riis, Semih Kilicsoy, Matija Frigan, Rabbi Matondo and Akpom in being targeted by Sunderland in the final days of the window, though Archer may be the most exciting link of all.
He’s a player with clear potential and ability, but he’s just not found a settled home in the last few seasons with Southampton utterly poor in the Premier League this time round.
Archer has featured 21 times in the league but has just two goals. In a more drilled and confident Sunderland side, he’d surely prevail.
