Sunderland seem determined to sign another attacking player this month.
The summer transfer window closes on August 30th, and it’ll bring an end to what’s so far been a fairly mixed summer window for Sunderland.
Regis Le Bris has welcomed five new players to the Stadium of Light so far, with Sunderland signing Wilson Isidor on loan from Zenit last week.
Results are proving impressive in the early stages of Le Bris’ Sunderland tenure.
The Black Cats beat Burnley 1-0 last time out to maintain their perfect start to the 2024/25 Championship season; Sunderland sit in 1st having won all three league games so far, and without conceding.
Whilst Kristjaan Speakman has finally delivered a new striker signing at Sunderland, it seems as though he’s keen on another.
Alexandre Mendy continues to be linked with a move to Wearside whilst Sunderland have held talks with Roko Simic at Red Bull Salzburg.
Now though, there’s another attacker being linked with a late summer move to Sunderland.

Sunderland once again linked with Dunkerque striker Enzo Bardeli
At the start of August, Sunderland were linked with Enzo Bardeli at French outfit Dunkerque.
Bardeli, 23, scored three and assisted five more in 38 Ligue 2 appearances last season.
Now, an emerging report from French outlet La Voix Des Sports says that Sunderland are still keeping tabs on Bardeli.
The attacking midfielder is currently in discussions with FC Metz and has interest from three unnamed Dutch sides too.
Sunderland appear to remain keen on Bardeli but don’t seem like the front-runners for his signature at this stage.

Sunderland won’t lose sleep over potential Enzo Bardeli miss
Bardeli is clearly someone who Sunderland like and who Speakman has done his research on.
He has a lot of widespread interest right now and that tells us all we need to know about his ability and his potential.
But with Sunderland having signed Ian Poveda this summer, and having the likes of Romaine Mundle starting to shine, another attacking midfield player may not be necessary.
Le Bris will be keen for Mundle and Poveda to have enough game time, along with the likes of Jobe Bellingham who’s the main no.10 at Sunderland right now.
If Sunderland can strike a reasonable deal for Bardeli then it’ll be another decent signing.
But missing out on the Frenchman may not be such a big deal.
