Enzo Le Fee’s arrival at Sunderland seems imminent. But fans have seen this all before – they won’t be celebrating anything until the deal is done.
Enzo Le Fee is all that Sunderland fans can talk about right now. And understandably so: the Black Cats are poised to sign a player on loan who Roma paid £19million to sign just last summer.
Then if Sunderland are promoted, they’ll be obliged to smash their transfer record by several million to make Le Fee a permanent player. Amid a promotion push, this all makes for very exciting reading for Sunderland fans.
The latest is that Le Fee was pictured flying into Sunderland on Thursday evening to complete his medical tests and see through his move from Italy. He’ll be reuniting with Regis Le Bris whom he worked under for several years at Lorient.

Enzo Le Fee to Sunderland update shared
Friday looks like the day that Sunderland will announce Le Fee. Or at least fans hope so, with all signs pointing towards the Black Cats announcing his arrival before the Stoke City game on Saturday.
Speaking to the press on Thursday, Le Bris said Le Fee won’t arrive in time for Stoke, playing down what he called just speculation’ anyway. Though the Black Cats boss didn’t rule out his side’s interest in the 24-year-old.
Now, Italian journalist Nicolo Schira has revealed on X that Le Fee to Sunderland is expected to be completed ‘today’ on Friday. He posted: “Expected today Enzo #LeFee’s signing on the contract with #Sunderland. If Black Cats return to Premier League, #ASRoma will receive €24M.”
Sunderland set to cover Enzo Le Fee’s Roma wages
Sunderland owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus is rightfully earning praise on social media for facilitating the move, which hasn’t come cheap for his side.
It’s already been revealed that Sunderland will cover Le Fee’s Roma wages until June with the Frenchman thought to be earning in the region of £69,000-a-week in Italy right now.
Then should Sunderland earn promotion and have to fork out £20million to make him a permanent player, it’ll be a club record transfer. On top of that, he’ll no doubt become the club’s highest-earning player too.
