Regis Le Bris transfer plea has become more urgent as Sunderland star was ‘under pressure’ vs Norwich

One request made by Regis Le Bris now makes much more sense following the win vs Norwich City.

Sunderland came away with a massive win on Wearside, with Regis Le Bris’ side recording a 2-1 win.

The Black Cats found themselves a goal down at the interval, with Anis Ben Slimane’s finish being the difference between the two sides, but a goal from centre-back Dan Ballard managed to get the side back on level terms.

Following a red card being shown to a Norwich defender, Sunderland took full advantage, and Jobe Bellingham bagged his fourth goal of the campaign with a brilliantly taken right-footed shot after he cut in from his left.

Overall, the second half showed the Black Cats to be at the races, however, one key man didn’t quite live up to expectations, which makes one call from Le Bris in the past week make much more sense.

Regis Le Bris plea for Sunderland striker signing has become urgent after Wilson Isidor showing

The Black Cats came out eventually as victors courtesy of Bellingham, however, it looked at one point that Sunderland were set to squander a chance to grab all three points after Wilson Isidor missed a key opportunity when one-on-one with the keeper.

The French striker only managed the one shot all game, and recorded 13 touches, however Le Bris has spoken about his confidence in the striker.

At this moment in time, Le Bris has no option but to utilise Isidor at striker, despite his bad form, and as a result, it is clear why the French boss has been calling for one-or-two striker signings in the January transfer window.

Regis Le Bris must navigate ways to help Wilson Isidor regain confidence

There is no doubting the quality of Isidor, especially considering the brilliance of some of his goals this season, with the solo strike away at Hull City coming to mind.

However, he is clearly low on confidence as he showed no real coolness in front of goal against Norwich City, where you could suggest that he almost looked seriously ‘under pressure’, and it would certainly help if Le Bris had options to interchange the out-of-form attacker.

Until the moment where Kristjaan Speakman is able to bring in extra ranks to lead the line, Le Bris is going to have to man-manage Isidor to help him refind his feet and get through this sticky patch.
