Sunderland could be looking to significantly bolster their attack in the January transfer window.
The Black Cats are currently gearing up for a January transfer window, where it looks like they will have to battle to ensure that they will be able to keep hold of their top talents.
Chris Rigg is certainly one that will drum up interest, despite him clearly being happy to extend his stay on Wearside as a key player in Regis Le Bris’ side.
Tommy Watson has also received interest from Premier League side Brighton, who have also identified Dan Ballard as a potential January signing.
If Sunderland are able to keep hold of their stars, as well as pursue the deals they have been linked with so far, they could have a top starting 11 by the time that the January transfer window comes to its conclusion.

Players that Sunderland could snap up in January
One man that Sunderland, as well as the large majority of teams in the Championship, have been linked with is Aston Villa winger Louie Barry, who currently finds himself on loan at Stockport County in League One.
Barry would certainly plug the gap at left wing, which has been an area of concern for Le Bris, who is currently having to deal with injuries handed to Watson and Romaine Mundle.
The Black Cats have also found themselves reportedly in the running for Brighton striker Evan Ferguson, who the Seagulls are likely to sanction a loan move for.
If Kristjaan Speakman is able to sign both players, here is how the Sunderland side could shape up following the January window…

Regis Le Bris’ predicted XI following January transfer window
Providing that Sunderland can hopefully hold onto all of their top talents, their defensive backline will remain somewhat untouched, with Anthony Patterson in-between the sticks, and a back-four of Trai Hume, Chris Meoham, Luke O’Nien and Dennis Cirkin sitting in front, with Ballard being available as well.
As for the midfield, it will be a challenge for Sunderland to keep hold of both Rigg and Jobe Bellingham, but if they did stay in Weaside, they would continue to sit in the centre-of-the-park alongside Dan Neil.
The attacking front three, however, could look slightly different if Ferguson and Barry were signed this January, as they could join Wilson Isidor in a front three, with Le Bris having the options of Eliezer Mayenda, Patrick Roberts and Romaine Mundle available to bring on.
