Some recognisable Sunderland names have also found themselves representing Norwich City in their career.
The Black Cats are set to face off against Norwich City this weekend, where Regis Le Bris’ side will be hoping that they can manage a win to cement their spot towards the summit of the Championship table.
Sunderland, currently sitting 4th in the Championship table, could be propelled as high as 2nd in the league with a win against the Canaries, providing that results elsewhere go their way.
Le Bris’ side will have to ensure that they are on their top performance in regards to their defensive capabilities, with Norwich City being the top scorers in the Championship.
Sunderland have plenty of similarities in regards to attacking abilities in the squad, but also they share familiarity with the players that have represented both clubs.
Here are three players that have played for both Sunderland and Norwich City in the 21st century…

Alex Pritchard
Sunderland signed attacking-midfielder Alex Pritchard from Huddersfield at the start of the 2021/22 League One season, where he helped the Black Cats to a famous League One play-off win, notching both assists in the 2-0 victory against Wycombe Wanderers.
Pritchard stayed at the club until the 2023/24 campaign, where he moved to Tony Mowbray’s Birmingham City in the January window.
He also represented the Canaries for the 2016/17 season before moving to Premier League outfit Huddersfield.
The 31-year-old attacking midfielder had quite the career change at the start of the 2024/25 campaign, where he moved to Super Lig side Sivasspor.

Michael Turner
The now-retired Michael Turner found himself on Wearside in the 2009/10 Premier League campaign, becoming a stalwart in the Sunderland defence for three seasons.
He bagged just the one goal for the Black Cats, coming in the Premier League in a 5-2 home victory against Wolves.
Following his three-year stint with the Black Cats, he then moved on to Norwich City, who he also represented for three campaigns, two of which being in the flight.

Lewis Grabban
Third on the list is former Sunderland loan signing Lewis Grabban, who arrived in 2017 from Bournemouth ahead of the Black Cats’ Championship campaign.
Netting 12 goals in just 19 Championship games, Grabban was sent on another loan to Aston Villa, who he went on to the Championship play-off final with, only to lose the final against Fulham.
His time at Norwich City was also somewhat short-lived, having played for the Canaries in the 2014/15 Championship campaign, netting 12 goals in 35 games, before moving on during the 2015/16 season.
