Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris gives an update on the injury sustained by Romaine Mundle.
Sunderland will face off against Swansea City this weekend as Regis Le Bris’ side look to bounce back from a stale 0-0 draw against Norwich City in midweek.
The Black Cats have been bolstered in recent weeks by the return of several players, including Enzo Le Fee, who was brilliant in his cameo vs Norwich, as well as Leo Hjelde, a returnee who was necessary amid Sunderland’s lack of options at left-back.
On the other end, Sunderland have been without Romaine Mundle after he picked up an injury in the 1-0 away victory against West Brom. Mundle suffered yet another hamstring problem, at a time when he had regained his form he had hit before his first injury earlier in the campaign.
With it initially weighing in the balance as to whether he would be available for the play-offs, Le Bris has given an indicator on when we are likely to see the winger return.

Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris confirms Romaine Mundle likely return ahead of play-offs
Sunderland winger Mundle has been a crucial member of Le Bris’ side this campaign, and, ultimately, has been sorely missed when out of action.
Fortunately, it looks as though Mundle may potentially return to the fray ahead of the Championship play-offs, which Sunderland look near enough confirmed to finish in, having secured a top-six finish following their 0-0 draw with Norwich City in midweek.
Speaking to the media ahead of this weekend’s clash with Swansea City, Le Bris said: “The target for him is the play-off period. He should be ok for then.”
Romaine Mundle return will be key ahead of Championship play-offs
With the Championship play-offs set to take place in the near future, Sunderland boss Le Bris will want to make sure that he has the best players at his disposal, which undoubtedly includes Mundle.
The Sunderland winger has shown impeccable quality, and on a consistent basis for the Black Cats, and there will no doubt be hopes that a side consisting of the likes of Mundle, as well as Le Fee can look to take the play-offs by storm.
Sunderland have been very unlucky with injuries this term, and is much of the reason as to why they find themselves far from the automatic spots, but with that now behind him, Le Bris will want to make sure as much is done to get Mundle up to speed prior to the play-offs.
