‘Wow’… Alan Browne sings the praise of fellow Sunderland teammate, he offers one thing that others ‘don’t have’

Sunderland midfielder Alan Browne has given a glowing review of a fellow teammate following his recent return to the starting 11.

Sunderland faced Norwich City in the midweek, which saw the Black Cats held to a plucky 0-0 draw at Carrow Road.

It was far from Sunderland’s finest hour, but it was a result that confirmed their place in the Championship play-offs this season, something that reflects on the brilliant job that Regis Le Bris has done since arriving on Wearside.

Whilst the game, on the surface, showed more negatives, as Sunderland midfielder Dan Neil struggled to live up to recent brilliant performances, whilst there was still a lack of intention in the final third, there was one glowing positive, and that was the substitute cameo from Enzo Le Fee, a man that, after the stalemate in Norfolk, was hailed by Sunderland man Alan Browne, with the 24-year-old receiving quite the praise.

Sunderland star Enzo Le Fee receives huge praise from Alan Browne

Sunderland ‘came to life’ when Le Fee came on for the Black Cats, a sign that he still shows his vast quality post-injury. This was certainly also noticed by Browne, who didn’t shy away when giving the Frenchman a glowing report, despite the disappointing result against Norwich City.

Talking to Sunderland’s in-house media, Browne said: “He’s right up there. You can see that,” in reference to Black Cats star Le Fee. “As soon as he comes on, you can see his little touches, his confidence on the ball is something that a lot of teams don’t have.

“He’s got that wow factor. He obviously had his setback as well, but now he’s in a position to build minutes. I think he will be really important for us between now and the end of the season.”

Le Fee has missed well over a month of action due to injury, but now looks to be fully up to speed and ready to play a prominent role in Le Bris’ side for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign.

Enzo Le Fee can be the difference-maker in the play-off run-in

Sunderland have shown, in recent weeks, their potential in gaining momentum ahead of the play-offs, something that will be crucial when facing off against fellow top Championship outfits. If they are to continue in that trajectory, Le Fee will be crucial.

Romaine Mundle’s recent hamstring setback was far from timely for Le Bris, but thankfully, Sunderland are alternatively able to get that ‘wow factor’ from Le Fee after his return, and that certainly hasn’t disappeared since his injury he picked up in the defeat to Hull City.

There was never any doubting of Le Fee’s brilliance, and providing that Le Bris utilises him to his capabilities, which would start by playing him through the middle, he could easily be the difference-maker for Sunderland.
