Sunderland star Jobe Bellingham is rapidly establishing himself as one of the best young players in the Championship, in England, and even in Europe, with reported interest from some of the continent’s biggest teams.
Jobe Bellingham has had a whirlwind 12 months or so. Last season at Sunderland, there were large sections of the fanbase who were unconvinced by the 19-year-old. Now, there’s no doubt about his potential.
So far in the 2024/25 season, Bellingham has featured 24 times in the Championship and has three goals, with four assists to his name as well.
Both Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund have been linked with Bellingham. There’s also been a lot of reports linking Premier League teams with the former Birmingham City man.
Arsenal are interested in Bellingham, it has been claimed. But the mood at the Stadium of Light seems to lean towards keeping Bellingham, at least until the end of this 2024/25 promotion push.

Nick Barnes predicts Germany move for Jobe Bellingham
Speaking to The Telegraph, BBC pundit Nick Barnes has discussed Bellingham’s future at Sunderland. Barnes was asked about Dortmund’s rumoured interest in Bellingham and whether or not he thinks the England U21s man could move to Germany in 2025.
Barnes said when asked if he could envision Bellingham moving to Dortmund: “Possibly. Because it is difficult sometimes not to associate him with his brother and the pathway he took to Dortmund and Real Madrid.
“There are a growing number of young English players who are taking that option, exposing themselves to European football at a much younger age and playing for big clubs, with high expectations, more regularly than they might do if they moved to the Premier League. It may well make sense for Jobe to do the same.”

Borussia Dortmund’s latest stance on Sunderland ace Jobe Bellingham
Dortmund, like Sunderland, have an eye for a young player, though the German giants operate on a much bigger budget than the Black Cats currently do.
But it looks like they’ll have to wait until the summer to sign anyone of note after previous reports revealed that Dortmund can’t afford to sign Bellingham in January.
Sunderland value Bellingham at £20million and right now there doesn’t seem to be any club or clubs making strong moves to try and sign the powerful midfielder.
The Sunderland owners’ valuation of Bellingham might have fended off any transfer interest for the time being. At some point though, Bellingham surely secures a big money move away from Wearside, and it could be to Germany.
