There’s no shortage of interest in Jobe Bellingham at Sunderland right now. The 19-year-old has several Premier League and European clubs on alert after his fine start to the 2024/25 season.

Jobe Bellingham has quickly become one of the best young players in England, not just in the Championship, with links to some of Europe’s biggest and best clubs proving so.

Already this season, Real Madrid and Dortmund have been linked with Bellingham, who’s so far featured 23 times in the Championship this season scoring four goals and assisting three more.

Right now though, it seems like Premier League interest in Bellingham is the strongest. Crystal Palace are linked with Bellingham, as well the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United.

Ruben Amorim’s United look set to do some business in January with the Red Devils having shown interest in a number of Sunderland players so far, including Anthony Patterson, Chris Rigg, and Bellingham.

Sunderland have worrying Jobe Bellingham agreement

An emerging report from Football Transfers has revealed a rather worrying ‘gentleman’s agreement’ between Sunderland and Bellingham, that could well be the reason why he leaves the club during the January transfer window.

During the summer, Bellingham signed a new Sunderland contract and committed his future to the club until the summer of 2028, amid summer interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Palace and more.

Football Transfers now report that Bellingham’s new contract included a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ that would allow ‘him to depart for a Premier League club should a suitable offer arise’.

The same report adds that ‘Arsenal scouts are closely monitoring Bellingham’ who’s widely reported to be valued at £20million by the Sunderland owners.

Regis Le Bris breaks silence on Jobe Bellingham transfer interest

Speaking before the Portsmouth game, Regis Le Bris was asked about emerging transfer interest in his players, with Bellingham the one most in demand right now.

Le Bris said about transfer interest at Sunderland: “I think for them, they can understand the dynamic, where they are today is positive for their improvement, so it’s good news to have this interest from other clubs, but at the same time I think they are really involved in the project today.”

Then when asked if he thinks his in demand stars will stay beyond the January transfer window, Le Bris simple replied: “Yes.”

But this emerging news about a gentleman’s agreement for Bellingham to leave is certainly worrying. Though it all hinges on whether or not clubs come in with a £20million offer, which Sunderland would seemingly have to accept as part of their agreement with Bellingham.
