Sunderland have been told to massively improve in one area despite their win against Millwall.
Sunderland beat Millwall at the Stadium of Light this weekend, as the Black Cats ground out a 1-0 victory on home turf.
There was much to praise from the performance as, even with several injuries depleting the backline, the Black Cats still managed to notch a clean sheet, as Sunderland midfielder Alan Browne performed brilliantly as a make-shift right-back, whilst Trai Hume showed his quality on the left, and even bagged the winning goal.
Unfortunately for Sunderland, there was one department that the Black Cats struggled in, despite notching all three points against Millwall, and it could leave Regis Le Bris with a difficult decision.

Michael Graham announces issues with Sunderland infront of goal after Millwall win
Despite having control of the majority of the game, Sunderland were unable to put the game to put, partly due to Luke O’Nien’s missed penalty, but also the lack of action for the strikers.
When one Sunderland fan suggested that Le Bris’ side were ‘still not clinical enough in front of goal’, Michael Graham simply responded by saying they were ‘nowhere near’.
In the 88 minutes of the game, per SofaScore, Wilson Isidor managed just two shots on target in his measly tally of 28 touches. The Frenchman also lost possession on 12 occasions, one of the reasons why Sunderland fans were unhappy with Isidor’s performance.

Regis Le Bris must take proactive action following Wilson Isidor performance
There is no doubting that the signing of Isidor has been a breath of fresh air this season, with him notching 12 goals in the 2024/25 Championship season.
However, his recent form is a rather cause for concern, and whilst he admittedly didn’t get the ball handed to him too often in recent games, which has left him isolated, he still hasn’t looked the most confident infront of goal, something that Le Bris will need to sort.
After such a difficult performance for the Frenchman, it would be expected that Le Bris may look to bring Eliezer Mayenda back into the starting side, who has shown a lot more promise in front of goal in recent weeks.
