Sunderland fans are all saying the same thing about Wilson Isidor after 1-0 win vs Millwall

Sunderland got through what promised to be a tricky Championship game against Millwall on Saturday, taking all three points with a 1-0 win.

The game that promised to be tough certainly delivered on its promise. Alex Neil’s Millwall were typically tough to break down but it was Trai Hume’s volley in the first half that saw Regis Le Bris’ side pick up the win.

It comes after the March international break which came at a great time for Sunderland who lost 3-0 at Coventry City in their last outing, leaving a sour taste for this two week break.

But it’s back to winning ways for the Black Cats who take another step towards a play-off finish.

Sunderland fans unimpressed with Wilson Isidor vs Millwall

Despite being the club’s top scorer with 12 goals this season, Wilson Isidor was not at the races against Millwall, nor has he been for several weeks now.

“Isidor presses well and gets the ball but no final product. He is just not on it today sadly!” said one Sunderland fan on social media.

“I’d like to hope Wilson is a lot better in the second half,” said another after his poor first half showing, whilst another Sunderland supporter even suggested: “He seems to be lacking some confidence.”

In the second half, Isidor had a great chance to put Sunderland two goals ahead but for his point blank header somehow being saved. “Poor miss by Isidor absolutely. Heads it straight at him,” said a Sunderland fan.

Others also thought Isidor was going down too easily and preventing attacks from starting, with one fan pointing out: “Isidor needs to stop going to the ground and stop with his wasteful one touch passing. His touch has been dreadful.”

Another said: “Hope Le Bris tells Isidor that he doesn’t have to jump to the ground every time he feels a touch.”

Wilson Isidor’s stats for Sunderland vs Millwall

Sunderland signed Isidor in a £5million deal during the January transfer window, making his stay from Zenit a permanent fixture in new that impressed a number of fans.

But in recent weeks, Le Bris has picked Eliezer Mayenda over Isidor and that might just have knocked Isidor’s confidence as he simply hasn’t looked like the same player since, with his stats against Millwall proving that…
