Sunderland striker Wilson Isidor has penned a message to fans after his deal on Wearside was made permanent.
The Black Cats’ priority for the January transfer window has seen them look to bolster their attacking options.
Sunderland Director of Football Kristjaan Speakman has been ambitious with the players he has targeted, but other than the early deal to bring in Enzo Le Fee on loan from Italian giants Roma, the Black Cats haven’t seen too much success.
On the upper hand, Speakman has made the correct, and very obvious decision to sign Wilson Isidor on a permanent deal from Russian club Zenit after his performances in the former half of the 2024/25 Championship season.
Isidor has been a breath of fresh air when leading the line for Regis Le Bris’ side, and the French attacker’s recent message to fans perfectly sums up how much the club means to him despite playing here for such a short period so far.

Wilson Isidor sends fan message as he calls Sunderland ‘home’
Ever since the departure of Ross Stewart, Sunderland fans have been crying out for a solid Championship striker that can score on a consistent basis, and they finally have the answer in Isidor.
After bagging nine so far this season, and proving to be a hit alongside Spanish youngster Eliezer Mayenda, who has thrived alongside Isidor, the Frenchman was always going to be offered a long-term stay at the Stadium of Light.
After the deal was confirmed on Saturday, Isidor wasted no time to pen a message to Sunderland fans, via X, where he said: “I came here on loan, but I immediately felt at home.
“From Day One you made me feel like one of yours, let’s make it last for years to come.
“Ha’way The Lads.”
Regis Le Bris must play to Wilson Isidor strengths as one tactical decision needs adjusting
The fact that Speakman has signed Isidor on a permanent deal is a real sign of trust in the French striker that the abilities he has displayed so far have been well above what was expected.
It is clear that without Isidor, Sunderland simply wouldn’t have that attacking consistency to be in-and-around the promotion battle. Because of this, Le Bris needs to now prioritise playing to his strengths.
Isidor has previously made it clear that he thrives as part of a two-striker formation, and Le Bris must ensure that he is consistent with this selection in order to give the 24-year-old the best chance to rack up his goal tally for the rest of the season and hopefully keep Sunderland well within the promotion race.
