As a youngster, Cannon progressed through Everton’s academy. After signing his first professional deal in March 2021, he made his debut for the Toffees in November 2022, coming off the bench in the club’s 4-1 defeat to Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup.
Soon after, the striker made his Premier League debut, once again as a substitute against Bournemouth.
For the second half of the 2022/23 campaign, Cannon was sent out on loan where he experienced widespread success at Preston in the Championship. Here, he netted eight times in 20 league games.
Upon returning to Everton, he was then sold to Leicester who had just been relegated to the second tier. For the Foxes, he netted three times in 16 games in all competitions as the club went on to win the Championship.
