Sunderland’s pursuit of Kieffer Moore looks to be back on in the final days of the window.

Sunderland are one of a number of clubs who have been chasing Kieffer Moore this month, with previous reports claiming they had submitted a loan offer for the striker.

After signing four inexperienced forwards in the summer, the Black Cats now seem to have realised their mistake and are looking to bolster their ranks with someone proven in the Championship.

Moore is currently struggling for minutes in the Premier League with Bournemouth, but has a brilliant record in the second tier with the Cherries, as well as Cardiff City and Wigan.

The 31-year-old netted 25 goals in 64 games for Cardiff before earning himself a move to Bournemouth, where he claimed four in four to help win promotion to the top flight.

Moore has a total of 47 goals in 155 games in the Championship – hence the huge interest in his signature in January.

Talk of a move to Sunderland had gone quiet in recent weeks though, before it was reported that the Black Cats looked likely to miss out, with the attacker likely to stay at his current club.

However, The Athletic have now gone back on their word and have claimed that Moore is expected to join either Sunderland, Cardiff or Ipswich, who have all made loan offers for the veteran.

Would Kieffer Moore want to join Sunderland?

It would still be a huge surprise if Sunderland manage to sign Kieffer Moore over the next few days, with Ipswich and Cardiff probably both preferred to Wearside.

The striker is already well-loved in Wales following his successful stint with the Bluebirds and his time with the national team, while Moore’s arrival could potentially provide them with an outside chance of pushing for the playoffs.

Ipswich would surely be a tempting offer for ‘unplayable’ Moore, given the opportunity to help them win promotion to the Premier League.

While Sunderland could guarantee the Wales international regular football, it would also force him to move to practically the other side of the country.

Despite the win over Stoke, I also don’t really think we are much of an attractive proposition given the current situation regarding Michael Beale and the board.

Fingers crossed though, as we don’t seem to have been linked with any alternatives recently.
