Sunderland sporting director Kristjaan Speakman is reportedly eyeing up two players as the season draws close.

Tony Mowbray and the Sunderland chiefs are keen to bring in two more players, as the Championship opener becomes close.

Sunderland welcome the newly promoted and ambitious Ipswich Town to the Stadium of Light on Sunday.

This will be a tough fixture ahead of a tough season which is why more incomings are wanted by the boss.

He seems likely to get his wish as two names are tipped to be in talks with the Black Cats.

Two incomings each from a top European side could boost the side with promotion ultimately the aim this season.

Sunderland in talks for Dagba

The first player who Speakman is keen on bringing is PSG right-back Colin Dagba.

The 24-year-old Frenchman is coming off an impressive loan spell with Strasbourg which has resulted in the interest.

According to Foot Mercato, Sunderland have ‘opened discussions’ to sign Dagba on a permanent deal.

With both sides said to be keen on making a deal happen with Dagba not in the plans of the Parisians.

Bishop deal expected

Along with Dagba, it is also expected the Sunderland will complete a deal for their new goalkeeper.

Last week it was reported that a deal for Nathan Bishop was advanced and that a deal was likely.

Now it seems inevitable with the Sunderland Echo saying the deal is ‘expected’ to be completed.

With Bishop now returned from Manchester United’s pre-season tour a deal could be completed anytime.

This would leave the Black Cats stacked in the goalkeeping department.
