Jesurun Rak-Sakyi could now stay at Crystal Palace.

The winger appears to still be part of Roy Hodgson’s plans at Selhurst Park after he was subbed on during their defeat to Arsenal on Monday, as reported by Chronicle Live.

Rak-Sakyi has been heavily linked with a loan move away from Crystal Palace this summer after a hugely successful spell with Charlton Athletic last season. The youngster was named their Player of the Season after bagging 15 goals and providing eight assists in League One.

Sunderland are one club that have been linked with the ‘wonderful’ winger over the past week, while Blackburn Rovers and Leicester City are also thought to be interested.

The Black Cats are reportedly looking to offload Jewison Bennette for the season and could look to add Rak-Sakyi to their attack, with Isaac Lihadji also leaving for Qatar this month.

Could Sunderland miss out on Jesurun Rak-Sakyi?

While Rak-Sakyi looks like a potentially very good signing for Sunderland, the latest rumours that he could still be in Crystal Palace’s first team plans puts a dent in their pursuit.

The 20-year-old was yet to feature for the Eagles this season, however he was handed a brief cameo appearance on Monday evening as they looked to grab a goal during their 1-0 defeat to Arsenal.

However, Rak-Sakyi’s position in Crystal Palace’s team may just depend on their future transfer business and injuries. Roy Hodgson’s side parted ways with Wilfried Zaha earlier this summer, while Matheus Franca was also unavailable following his from Flamengo.

The return of Michael Olise from injury is also likely to push Rak-Sakyi further down the pecking order, meaning he could still leave south London before next week’s deadline.
