Sunderland have taken Kelechi Chibueze on trial.
According to the Sunderland Echo, the goalkeeper has been training at the Academy of Light with the Black Cats’ U-21 side ahead of a potential permanent move.
Chibueze began his youth career with Chelsea before moving further north with Leicester City in 2020.
The teenager has made 19 appearances in the U18 Premier League and also featured in the FA Youth Cup, conceding 26 goals and keeping three clean sheets.
Chibueze also has four international caps with England U-16s to his name, though is yet to make the step up to the U-21s.
The 19-year-old now finds himself without a club after he was let go by the Foxes and will be eager to prove himself on Wearside to earn a full-time contract.

Sunderland U-21 are looking to bolster their goalkeeping department following an injury to Adam Richardson.
The senior team’s Nathan Bishop has been featuring for the youth side in Richardson’s absence, with Jacob Carney and Harrison Bond leaving the club this summer to leave an empty void in the squad.
Richardson’s injury led to 16-year-old Matthew Young being handed a chance with the first-team during their pre-season trip to the USA.
The club are clearly intending on bringing in a replacement for Richardson after bringing Chibueze in on trial, though the report claims there has been no decision made on his future and his stay on Wearside is currently only temporary.
