Enzo Le Fee became Sunderland’s first signing in 2025 after he joined the Black Cats on loan from Roma.

Regis Le Bris has sent a massive statement to the rest of the Championship this week as he confirmed the capture of the Frenchman.

Le Fee has had an illustrious career so far, spending most of his time in France before moving to Roma in the summer for €23 million.

However, this transfer has not worked out which has given Sunderland the opportunity to secure the midfielder on loan.

Now, after signing for the Black Cats, Le Fee has sent an encouraging message to the Stadium of Light faithful after completing the move.

Enzo Le Fee tells Sunderland fans he’s ‘very happy’ to join ‘big club’

Le Fee’s arrival has no doubt excited the Sunderland fanbase. The signing immediately increases the Black Cats’ chances of securing top-flight football at the end of the campaign.

If this is achieved, Le Fee’s stay will become permanent, for a record £19.2 million. Now, Le Fee has told fans how ‘excited’ he is to join the Wearside club.

“I’m very happy to be here and I’m excited to meet the people,” he told the Sunderland website. “There are some familiar faces with Wilson Isidor, Adil Aouchiche and Salis Abdul Samed.

“I also know the coach and I know how he wants to play, so I am sure this will also help me. Now, I just need to prove it on the pitch.

“I think that’s the most important thing and I’m very excited to play in front of the fans. This is a big club. For me, that is normal, and I can’t wait to get started.”

Enzo Lee Fee can revolutionise Sunderland

Le Fee’s signing is a massive statement to the rest of the Championship. The midfielder could easily be the best player in the league given his feats.

Promotion to the Premier League is no doubt the goal and a signing such as Le Fee could well make the difference.

Much will determine how quickly Le Fee adapts to the Championship. However, given that he has previously worked under Le Bris, it should make the transition quicker.

Hopefully, Le Fee can hit the ground running immediately and show the rest of the division why the Black Cats are prepared to break their transfer record for him.
