Sunderland look set to kickstart their January business with the loan signing of Roma midfielder Enzo Le Fee, who was pictured flying into the north-east on Thursday to complete his move.
Sunderland will set the bar for this January transfer window very high when they complete the loan signing of Roma’s Enzo Le Fee. Indeed, it sets the bar high for the next summer transfer window too.
Right now though, Kristjaan Speakman will be focused on what he can do in this month’s window, with Le Fee highly unlikely to be the only signing that the club makes.
With Sunderland set to pay Le Fee’s wages, it highlights the fact that owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus is ready to invest in a promotion push under Regis Le Bris this season.
With that in mind, we’ve taken a look at the next two January signings that the Black Cats could pull off after Le Fee…

Sunderland want to sign Harvey Vale from Chelsea
One name who’s been linked of late, but who’s probably gone under the radar given Le Fee’s links to the Stadium of Light, is Chelsea midfielder Harvey Vale. Vale is out of favour at Stamford Bridge and the Black Cats are interested in a January deal.
Sunderland AFC News were recently informed that Sunderland face Championship competition for Vale, with the 21-year-old Chelsea academy gem also attracting interest from the continent.
And in news that will surely have gotten Sunderland’s attention, it’s claimed that Chelsea will sell Vale for nothing in January. In return though, the Blues want to include add-on fees and clauses in any potential move for Vale in January.

Could Sunderland trigger Wilson Isidor’s option to buy?
Next summer, strikers will once again be the focus for Sunderland. Right now the club has limited options with the impressive Wilson Isidor and Aaron Connolly, who are both currently set to leave the club at the end of the campaign.
Fans have grown to love Isidor who’s currently the Black Cats’ top scorer in the Championship with eight goals in the league so far, and three in his last four outings after previously going seven games without a goal.
Per previous reports, Sunderland have a £3.5million option to buy Isidor. And it could be an idea for the club to activate that transfer sooner rather than later as Isidor’s current form is only going to put him in the shop window ahead of next simmer.
Right now though, Sunderland look to be solely focused on getting the Le Fee deal through without any final hitches, with attentions then turning to the FA Cup clash against Stoke City on Saturday.
