Sunderland fans are still waiting to see what Nectarios Triantis can really bring to the team, with the Australian having made just three league appearances for the Black Cats.
Sunderland signed Nectarios Triantis from Australian outfit Central Coast Mariners in 2023, with the centre-back arriving off the back of an impressive 2022/23 season in the A-League.

Hibs fans have described Triantis as ‘terrible’, ‘dreadful’, and ‘awful’, with one fan saying after the Dundee defeat: “Triantis should be on the first train to Newcastle in the morning.”

A fall from grace for Nectarios Triantis at Hibernian
At the start of the season with Hibs, Triantis was impressing in his new-look role in midfield.
Triantis was praised for his intelligent performances in the middle of the pitch, but it’s clear from fans’ recent comments that he’s not having the same impact right now.
It’s certainly been a tough year-and-a-half for Triantis since arriving at Sunderland. Now, the Black Cats may have to make a January decision on the 21-year-old.
A new loan club could be ideal for Triantis, perhaps somewhere lower down in the Football League.
