Nectarios Triantis has shone whilst on loan away from Sunderland, and has helped Hibernian to a brilliant achievement.
Sunderland have many players out on loan for the 2024/25 campaign.
One man that has shone away from Wearside is Nectarios Triantis, who returned to Scottish Premiership side Hibernian after spending the latter stages of the season prior at the Edinburgh-based side.
Triantis’ brilliant form has earned him an Australia call-up this season, his first at senior level, and he continues to go from strength-to-strength with a Hibernian side currently flying in 3rd place behind Rangers and Celtic.
Hibs’ most recent game saw them travel away to Rangers at the Ibrox, where he helped his side to a historic victory, and one that created an unwanted piece of history for the Glaswegian side.

Sunderland loanee Nectarios Triantis helps Hibernian to beat Rangers in historic win
This weekend saw Triantis’ Hibernian beat Rangers 2-0 as his side moved closer to confirming their top six position in the Scottish Premiership.
It is always a monumental achievement for any side to notch a victory at Rangers, but Hibernian did so to make it 16 league games unbeaten, their longest ever undefeated run in all competitions.
The Sunderland loanee made quite the impact at the Ibrox, having, per SofaScore, won six out of 10 duels, whilst also drawing in three fouls. The Black Cats man also made a splendid defensive contribution, making four tackles, and four clearances to help hand Rangers a fifth successive defeat at home, their longest streak in their club’s history.

Nectarios Triantis could soften the blow of potential summer transfer issues
When looking at Sunderland’s most in-demand players, your eyes are immediately drawn to the centre of the park, which consists of Chris Rigg, Jobe Bellingham, and Dan Neil, all three of whom have received interest from Premier League sides.
If Sunderland are unable to achieve promotion this season, it could be a case that any oif these players might want their Premier League ambitions met with a move away from Wearside, something taht will be difficult for the Black Cats to deal with on the surface.
However, it is clear that Triantis has developed brilliantly whilst at Hibernian, and there is every possibility that he will now be able to slot into a Championship midfield seamlessly.
