Sunderland attacker Wilson Isidor has sent a message to the fans after the defeat on the road.
Sunderland suffered a disappointing defeat and performance against Watford as the Black Cats lost 2-1 on the road.
The Black Cats certainly didn’t show much to build on, with the midfield particularly showing poor signs throughout the 90 minutes.
Jobe Bellingham notably put in a poor performance for Sunderland against Watford, whilst Chris Rigg looked to be a shadow of his former self.
However, Dan Neil stole the show for all the wrong reasons for Sunderland as he clumsily gave away a penalty in the final 10 minutes, which proved to be massively costly in terms of the final result.
Whilst there were very few positives, Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris will take satisfaction from attacking signing Wilson Isidor opening up his account in the Championship, and he has penned a message to the fans following his first goal of the season.

Wilson Isidor pens message to Sunderland fans after 2-1 defeat
Isidor’s goal showed the new arrival in the right place at the right time for Le Bris’ side as he got on the end of a square ball put into the box by Patrick Roberts.
Despite his goal, he was still let down by the result and has since sent a promise to the Sunderland fans, where he wrote on X: “Tough result… We’ll come back stronger.”
It was the French striker’s first goal for the club on his first start, and there have been plenty of positive signs for the attacker from his performances in the U21’s.

Wilson Isidor will likely cement his place at starting striker
After a solid start to the season from Eliezer Mayenda, it was uncertain as to whether Isidor would be able to fill the shoes of the young Spanish striker.
However, Isidor most certainly lived up to the billing and showed his prolific side right from the off for Le Bris’ side and he has shown incredible signs already up to this point as a player that can adapt quickly to the Championship.
It would be particularly harsh on Mayenda if Isidor was to instate his spot as the number one option to lead the line for Sunderland, especially after what was an incredibly unexpected run of performances in the build up to his injury, but on the other hand it will certainly be crucial for Le Bris going forward by having that necessary competition in the striker spot, and there is no doubt that that will bring out the best in the pair.
