Sunderland are to travel to the USA for their preseason tour in advance of the 2023-24 season, now Tony Mowbray’s squad has been announced.
The Black Cats won their first two preseason fixtures on Saturday, beating South Shields 4-3 and then defeating Gateshead 3-2 later in the day.
Sunderland now face a gruelling trip to America where they will meet San Antonio, New Mexico and North Carolina before facing Real Mallorca on their return to England, along with Hartlepool United.

The 26-man travelling squad has now been confirmed with a few new and youthful faces amongst those named, including a few of the youngsters who signed new deals over the last few weeks.

Mowbray has named his travelling squad to take on the trip to North America. He has included summer signings Jenson Seelt, Nectarios Triantis, Jobe Bellingham and Hemir in the squad.
While none of Aji Alese, Corry Evans, Elliot Embleton and Ross Stewart have travelled and will continue their injury rehab on Wearside.

One name that will stand-out is 16-year-old goalkeeper Matthew Young who recently signed a scholarship deal. Along with Niall Huggins who performed well against Gateshead.
Chris Rigg has also been included, another who recently signed a scholarship deal and also scored the winner during the weekend.
Another interesting story is Lynden Gooch who is set to return to his homeland and will be keen to make an impression.
