Sunderland is set to lose three players in the summer with contract situations yet to be extended beyond 2024.

Michael Beale’s side is aiming to pull themselves back into the Championship playoffs. A mixed run of form has seen the club fall to eighth in the table after three victories in 10 matches.

However, many might see the last month as somewhat successful. The Black Cats managed to hold onto multiple first-team players, with only Alex Pritchard departing the club to go to Birmingham City

Stars such as Jack Clarke and Jobe Bellingham were kept at the Stadium of Light, despite rumours and bids from different clubs

However, there are still players that are set to leave the club. Multiple contracts are set to expire in the summer with Sunderland yet to extend their deals. Here, we look at which three players fans may not see in red and white in the next campaign.

The midfielder only joined the club last summer but could already find himself leaving after just one year.

Dack, who joined on a free from Blackburn Rovers in July 2023 has been used sporadically so far this season.

Injuries have halted the 30-year-old’s appearances in the 2023/24 campaign, with the midfielder only appearing 13 times for the Black Cats so far. His last appearance came in a 1-0 victory over Hull City on Boxing Day but Dack only managed to last just under 45 minutes as he was forced off with a hamstring injury.

The former Blackburn man joined the club on a one-year contract with another year as an option. With Beale yet to take this up, Dack is currently set to leave the club.

Another player who has struggled with injuries over the years, Evans could well be playing his last season at the Black Cats.

The defensive midfielder was out of the sidelines for almost all of 2023 after sustaining a knee ligament injury which needed surgery.

The club captain is yet to return to the pitch with the experienced 33-year-old now being out for 12 months. However, there is hope that he may be back soon.

This is certainly not an ideal situation for the Northern Ireland international who joined the club back in 2021 and oversaw Sunderland’s promotion back to the Championship. However, with his contract situation yet to be resolved, he is still set to depart in the summer.

The 20-year-old is a graduate of the Sunderland academy after rising through the youth system. The midfielder made his debut for the Black Cats back in the 2021/22 season in the 2-1 victory over Port Vale in the Carabao Cup.

Taylor appeared once again in the cup at the start of this season in the penalty shootout defeat to Crewe. However, since then, he has only made the bench and has not seen any first-team action on the pitch.

After signing a three-year professional contract in 2021, this is yet to be renewed and Taylor could find himself without a club in the summer.
