Clarke has been on fire for the Black Cats since joining the club. While the club may have gone through its ups and downs, the attacker has certainly been one of the bright sparks for Sunderland.

This has attracted mass interest from Premier League clubs. The Sunderland man even put out a statement after the January transfer window due to the number of bids the Stadium of Light club rejected.

Clarke was born in the city of York. This helped him come through the ranks of Leeds before moving to Spurs in 2019.

Allan Clarke was a highly important player for many sides many in the 1960s and 1970s. Starting off at Walsall, Allan Clarke is widely known for his time at Leeds United where he scored over 150 goals and won multiple honours.

After Jack Clarke came through the Leeds academy and shared the same last name, many affiliated the two together. However, there is no direct relation between the two and it is just a coincidence that they both have ‘Clarke’ as their last name.

After Clarke joined Spurs in 2019, he spent the majority of his Tottenham career out on loan. This resulted in the forward joining Sunderland on a loan deal for the second half of the 2021/22 season.

After an impressive spell at the Stadium of Light, the Black Cats opted to sign Clarke in July 2022. Joining on a four-year deal, little is known as to how much Sunderland paid for the sensation with the deal being undisclosed.

However, with the club demanding a high fee for Clarke, they will certainly be looking to make a profit if more bids come in the summer.

With Clarke yet to sign a new deal since he joined Sunderland, the forward is still on the same wage. However, this still makes him one of the top earners at the club.

According to Salary Sport, Clarke is the fourth highest earner at the club racking in £780k a year. This works out to around £15k per week.

After now spending just over two years at the club on loan and permanently, Clarke has certainly racked up his numbers. While his loan spell in League One only saw him net once for the club, he has now scored 24 goals in total for Sunderland.

The 2023/24 campaign was his best so far, with the forward finding the net 15 times, four goals ahead of his tally from the previous season. 

Goal-scoring isn’t the only thing Clarke is good at either. The forward also has 23 assists in total. This brings the attacker up to an astonishing 50-goal contributions for the club in two-and-a-half years.

With good form comes an increase in value and that is certainly what has happened to Clarke over the past couple of years.

When the forward signed for Sunderland, Transfermarkt valued him at around €4m. However recently, his value has skyrocketed with the website now seeing the 23-year-old as worth €15m.

Like Transfermarkt, Clarke’s form this season has seen his value change as a result. At the start of the game, the 23-year-old had a rating of 73 and a potential of 83 according to sofifa.

Since then, his rating has increased to 74, however, his potential remains at 83 despite it becoming 84 midway through the game.
