In total, Sunderland ended the summer transfer with nine new signings.
Sunderland looked to have enjoyed a fruitful summer transfer window, which ended in style.
Sunderland signed four players on deadline day and have also enjoyed a very strong start to the 2024/25 season under Regis Le Bris.
Despite a 3-2 defeat vs Plymouth Argyle last time out, the Black Cats remain in 1st place of the Championship table, with four wins from five in the league this season.
So far, several of the new signings have made an immediate impact, with Alan Browne perhaps being the standout right now.
Many of Sunderland’s new signings are yet to feature though, with several either injured or working their way into starting contention.
One who’s yet to make his first league appearance for the club is goalkeeper Simon Moore.
The former Coventry City man was the first to arrive at the Stadium of Light in the summer, coming in even before Le Bris was appointed.

Simon Moore discusses summer interest before Sunderland move
Moore, 34, was released by Championship rivals Coventry City at the end of last season.
Sunderland signed Moore on a free transfer and he made his debut in the Carabao Cup defeat vs Preston North End.
Moore impressed, making a string of decent saves and giving fans confidence that they have a dependable back-up for Anthony Patterson.
On Tuesday night, the club held a Q&A between the summer signings and fans, with Moore in attendance.
Moore, per Sunderland Echo, revealed that he’d rejected Championship and League One offers before arriving at Sunderland.
Moore also praised Patterson, describing him as a ‘top class young goalkeeper’.

Simon Moore addition is underrated at Sunderland
Moore showed in his debut game that he’s a goalkeeper who can certainly hold his own at Championship level.
He’s now a reliable and dependable option for Le Bris should Patterson be unavailable, and the fact that he turned down so many options to move to Sunderland shows that he really wants to be at the club.
But Moore also adds a huge degree of Championship experience to the side.
Although he has just 79 Championship appearances to his name, he’s been with Championship clubs since 2013, so he brings a wealth of experience and class to Sunderland.
Experiences what Kristjaan Speakman needed to add during the summer, and he’s done that with the additions of Moore and Browne among others.
