One Sunderland player has been excellent at putting away his chances in the 2024/25 season.
It has been a prolific start to the 2024/25 Championship season for the Black Cats, with several players impressing.
Sunderland are first in the Championship table after nine games, sitting just above Sheffield United thanks to their superior goal difference.
Regis Le Bris has transformed the North East outfit since his arrival over the summer into one of the deadliest attacking forces in the second tier of English football.
Excluding their Carabao Cup defeat to Preston North End, Sunderland have scored in every single one of their fixtures so far in 2024/25.
This has seen them notch a staggering 18 goals in nine league games this term – the most in the Championship with Norwich City (16) their closest rivals ahead of club football returning next week.
For all the goals they have scored though, one Sunderland man has stood out amongst the crowd for his clinical finishing

Romaine Mundle overperforming for Sunderland
The player in question is Romaine Mundle, who has found the net three times in nine league fixtures so far this season.
Several Sunderland stars reacted to Mundle after the Leeds United draw last weekend, praising the forward for his role in helping their side secure a hard-fought point against one of the promotion favourites.
Now, the Sunderland Echo, using WhoScored, have now revealed the most clinical and wasteful Sunderland players of 2024/25 so far by looking at their xG and taking away the actual number of goals they have scored from that total.
And it is good news for Mundle who has an xG of 1.27 and an actual goal return of three, giving him an xG difference of +1.74 to see him top the list as Sunderland’s most clinical player this term.

What Regis Le Bris previously said about Romaine Mundle
Despite, on paper, Mundle being the most clinical Sunderland player of 2024/25, the forward has previously been questioned by Le Bris.
The 21-year-old had three goals in eight games prior to facing Leeds last weekend but Le Bris raised a ‘consistency’ concern over Mundle ahead of that outing.
He said: “We knew before that he [Mundle] has the potential to play as a winger with this ability to dribble, to create and balance in 1v1 situations, to defend with the team as well.
“So far me it’s not a big surprise to assess this level at the minute, but the question is the consistency, he will have this question to solve.
“Is he available to repeat this kind of performance? I think he is able to do that, but he needs to achieve that goal.”
Mundle did not score or assist versus Leeds but he still has plenty of time to prove he can be a consistent performer under Le Bris.
Sunderland return to action next weekend when they take on Hull City on Sunday, October 20th.
