Sunderland star Romaine Mundle was forced off with injury in the last game against Coventry City.
Romaine Mundle has been one of Sunderland’s stars of the season so far, having really stepped up to the plate following the summer sale of Jack Clarke.
The former Spurs man has scored four and assisted two more in 15 Championship outings so far this season.
But as Sunderland drew 2-2 against Coventry City last weekend, Mundle was forced off on the 76-minute mark, with the 21-year-old looking deject as he limped off the pitch.
After the game, Regis Le Bris said that he didn’t know the severity of Mundle’s injury, nor of Alan Browne’s as the midfielder also limped off at the Stadium of Light.
Now though, we may have been handed a rather cryptic injury update form Mundle himself.

Sunderland star Romaine Mundle drops injury hint on social media
On Thursday morning, Sunderland shared on social media some images of the first-team squad in training, in which we saw Aji Alese training following his injury lay-off.
But there was no sign of Mundle. Instead, Mundle posted on his Instagram story a picture of him seemingly on holiday.
It could suggest that Mundle has been given time off because he is in fact injured and unable to train.

Mundle is Sunderland’s highest-rated player so far this season. A possible injury blow for the player would be devastating for Le Bris amid this blip in form, but it could be a major chance for academy gem Tommy Watson to get a run of games in the Championship.
Luke O’Nien’s Tommy Watson hint could foretell starting spot against Millwall
For the upcoming Championship clash against Millwall, Le Bris looks set to be without Mundle, as well as Patrick Roberts who’s suspended.
And that surely points towards what would be a second start of the season for Watson, who’ll be hoping to play on his favoured left-hand side.
After the 18-year-old made his first start against Preston earlier in November, Luke O’Nien hailed Watson’s work-rate in training.
O’Nien said: “Tommy Watson got his first start today, which is good for him because he’s been phenomenal in training. I thought he did well.”
Watson was among those picture in first-team training on Thursday morning. Now with Mundle seemingly out of the country, and possibly carrying an injury, all signs point towards a Watson start against Millwall.
