Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris is set for a massive boost ahead of this weekend’s clash with West Brom.

Sunderland will face a trip to West Brom this weekend, where the Black Cats will be hoping to notch a victory against former boss Tony Mowbray.

The clash looks likely to be a tough encounter for both Sunderland and West Brom, who will be hoping to consolidate their position in the play-offs further.

In the red camp, details surrounding an agreement for Tommy Watson to join Brighton from Sunderland has cast doubt over whether he should be in contention for the Black Cats for the remainder of the campaign, despite him showing top talent on his day.

Despite the situation involving Watson, Sunderland are still set for a boost this weekend, and it involves the return of one injured star.

Sunderland star Enzo Le Fee expected to return vs West Brom

Sunderland January signing Enzo Le Fee has been injured since the home defeat to Hull City, and he has since been on the sidelines.

Fortunately, it looks as though Le Fee will be making his return this weekend, something that will certainly be a huge relief to Regis Le Bris, who will once again be able to turn towards his marquee January arrival for a touch of class on the pitch.

Per the Sunderland official X account Le Bris said: “We expect him to be fit this weekend.”

It is also likely that Leo Hjelde returns alongside Le Fee for Sunderland this weekend.

Could Tommy Watson saga influence Regis Le Bris decision over Enzo Le Fee

If Le Fee is fully fit this weekend, it would certainly be expected for Le Bris to utilise him as much as possible, whether that’s from the start, or with a substitute appearance.

However, one thing that is less certain at this point is where Le Bris will utilise his French talent, whether it’s on the left flank or in the centre of the park, the latter of which is his preferred and natural position.

Whilst it was expected that Le Bris would end his experiment of shipping Le Fee over to the left flank for Sunderland, his decision regarding Watson could be a factor. If, for whatever reason, Watson is handed a backseat due to his agreement to move in the summer, Le Fee may unfortunately be the person to recover that depleted depth on the left wing.
