Jack Clarke has struggled after leaving Sunderland, but may have now turned a leaf in his Ipswich Town spell.
Sunderland sold Jack Clarke in the summer to recently promoted Premier League side Ipswich Town.
Despite coming off the back of a high scoring 2023/24 Championship season, where Clarke bagged 15 goals in 40 Championship appearances on the wing for Sunderland, he hasn’t quite managed to see that quality translate into Premier League level.
Still waiting for his first top flight goal with the Tractor Boys, Clarke has been regarded as ‘annoying’ at times for the Suffolk-based club, and fans haven’t been too keen on his recent performances, but he may have just turned a tide in his Sunderland career after his recent showing in the FA Cup.

Jack Clarke returns to his best for Ipswich Town as former Sunderland ace bags brace
Coming up against Championship opposition in Coventry City, Clarke returned to his top form, bagging two goals, whilst also notching an assist against Frank Lampard’s side.
His first strike was particularly reminiscent of his time on Wearside, weaving between two defenders, before placing a right-footed strike into the goalkeeper’s far corner.
The performance by the former Sunderland man has been hailed by Ipswich Town fans, with many suggesting, on X, that he was ‘sensational, ‘a wizard’ and ‘a classy footballer’.
Another fan dropped the praise on Clarke, as he said: “If he can just believe he can do this in the prem he will be massive for us. So much ability.”
The former Sunderland ace’s brilliance was displayed perfectly by yet another Ipswich Town fan, who said: “Jack Clarke showed his quality, best player on the pitch, hopefully he can now get a run of games to show what a good player he is.”

Jack Clarke left Wearside too soon but he finally looks set to return to top form
Many Sunderland fans believed that Clarke left the club somewhat prematurely in terms of him not quite being ready for Premier League football just yet.
A third season of Championship football would have been perfect for Clarke, especially in this current Sunderland outfit, where he would have thrived on the left-flank.
Hopefully for the Ipswich winger, this top performance in the FA Cup will help him kick on in the Premier League, His quality was displayed in abundance against Coventry City, and that now must be replicated in England’s top tier.
