Everton holds interest in defender
Sunderland has been subject to multiple club’s interest in their players over the past season. Jack Clarke and Jobe Bellingham are just two, with Lazio monitoring the duo.
The Premier League has also kept an eye on Sunderland’s squad, with Everton reportedly interested in defender Dan Ballard.
The centre-back has become a vital player at the Stadium of Light since signing in 2022. As a result, Sunderland will be looking for around 10 times the amount they brought the player for.

Mark Warburton

Sunderland are now without a permanent manager after Michael Beale was sacked on Monday. Mike Dodds has temporarily been placed in charge of first-team affairs until the end of the season.
In the summer, it is widely expected that the Black Cats will appoint a new permanent manager. Many have been linked with the role including Warburton. The former QPR manager gave an interesting reply when asked about the job.
He said: “If you can’t see the potential at Sunderland, as a manager or coach… It’s a massive club. Great fan base. Anyone who gets that job right will be in for a fantastic ride.”

Owners blasted over Michael Beale

It’s safe to say Beale’s appointment at Sunderland was far from successful. The manager took charge in December and only managed 12 games, winning four before departing.
His reign was one of the shortest in Sunderland’s history with the club now seven points off the playoffs in 10th.
However, some have disagreed with how Beale was treated at the club including talkSPORT’s Simon Jordan who blasted the owners.
