Here is how Regis Le Bris’ side fared individually in Sunderland’s draw at home to Preston North End.
Sunderland welcomed Preston North End to the Stadium of Light, in which Regis Le Bris’ side notched a win.
It was a slow start to the contest, with Sunderland’s chances being far and few in the opening 30 minutes of the tie, but the Black Cats sprung back into life before the break, with Wilson Isidor getting a chance with a free header, but the Frenchman could only hit it wide.
Kicking off the second half, where Le Bris made no changes, Preston started the brighter of the two, with former Sunderland target Emil Riis getting a chance one-on-one with Anthony Patterson, but his effort was skewed wide. However, the Danishman didn’t rue that mistake for too long, having put his side ahead in the 65th minute, with Sunderland finding themselves behind.
However, substitute Romaine Mundle came to the rescue for the Black Cats, with the winger scoring a bending effort that was struck brilliantly to find the back of former Newcastle United man Freddie Woodman’s net.
After the draw, here is how we rated each individual…

Anthony Patterson
Almost played into trouble early on by Luke O’Nien, but showed composure on the ball when under pressure. Rarely called into action until Riis’ brilliant goal from distance. 6/10.
Trai Hume
Looked defensively solid throughout the game, dealing well with any threat from Preston’s left flank. 7/10.
Chris Mepham
Did very little defensively, with Luke O’Nien picking up more of the spoils, however looked composed as ever on the ball. Maybe should have closed Riis down before his goal. 6/10.

Luke O’Nien
Made an exquisite block at the back to deny Preston man Brad Potts. 7/10.
Dennis Cirkin
Occasionally found it difficult to deal with Sam Greenwood. Denied Preston an opener with a block early in the second half. 6/10.
Dan Neil
Long balls and passing again proved to be precise, but not too effective, creating few chances. Was turned easily by Preston’s Riis in the build up to his finish. 5/10.
Jobe Bellingham
On point with his progressive play, often finding Tommy Watson and Patrick Roberts in space out wide. 6/10.

Tommy Watson
Had a flurry of chances early on, struggling initially to settle into the tie. Done well to draw in a foul and yellow from Lewis Gibson. Continued to be passive in the second half before being replaced. 5/10.
Patrick Roberts
Was fairly absent throughout the tie, did little to cause a threat for the Preston North End back-line. 5/10.
Eliezer Mayenda
Lovely run and ball to tee up Tommy Watson in the 12th minute with a chipped cross. Had a golden opportunity to set up Wilson Isidor for the opener but wrongly opted for goal himself. Surprisingly brought off on the 58th minute. 7/10.

Wilson Isidor
Very quiet and passive early on, managing just three touches in the opening 30 minutes. Came alive after the opening half an hour, coming close to setting Eliezer Mayenda up with a chance. Had a golden opportunity to break the deadlock 40 minutes in, squandering a free header, a carbon copy from the one in the Hull City defeat. 6/10.
Chris Rigg
Brought on in the 58th minute in place of Mayenda. 6/10.
Romaine Mundle
Came off the bench but had little immediate impact. Created more of a threat than Tommy Watson after settling into the tie, giving the Preston defence more to think about. Levelled with an incredible bending effort into the top corner. 6/10.
